A first-magnitude spring on the lake's west shore inside the Ocala National Forest, releasing 65 million gallons of clear fresh water a day — swimming, snorkeling, and a short spring run down to the lake, plus a 2.3-mile round-trip Lake George Trail. Ancient shell mounds around the spring mark pre-Columbian Native American habitation.
