45 Hadjis Way — the full-service grocery for the village, a few minutes' drive off Main Street rather than a walk. Pharmacy counter inside. The provisioning stop before you settle into a Main Street walk-everywhere week; nothing on the lakefront itself covers a real grocery run.
1930 Saranac Avenue, the second full grocery option and the one that shares a parking lot with the Tesla Supercharger — convenient if you're charging and provisioning in the same stop. Pharmacy on-site as well. About a five-minute drive from the Main Street core.
The only wine and liquor store actually on Main Street, tucked in the Alpine Mall — a small, well-chosen list rather than a warehouse selection. The stop before a dinner-party night at the rental, since none of the restaurants let you bring your own.
1954 Saranac Avenue — the village's full pharmacy counter, open 8 AM to 8 PM daily, with a drive-up window for the fast in-and-out. Handles immunizations and compounding too. A short drive from Main Street, not a walk, so plan the trip alongside a grocery run.
2711 Main Street, at the north end of the village — gas, coffee, and the convenience-store basics without leaving the walkable core. Free air for the tires, and an ice cream case if Emma's line is too long. The most-used fill-up for anyone staying downtown.
1930 Saranac Avenue, in the Price Chopper lot — eight stalls, up to 250kW, NACS with a CCS adapter available for non-Tesla EVs. Open 24/7. Charge while you provision at the grocery store next door instead of losing a separate stop to it.
2523 Main Street — a 24-hour laundromat inside the walkable core, which is a genuinely rare thing for a lake town. Coin-op, no need to move a rental car you didn't want to unpack. Useful for a longer stay or the week you didn't pack enough for the lake weather.
203 Old Military Road — same-day and urgent-care appointments for anything short of a real emergency, with early and late slots available on request. The village's own ER closed in 2023, so this is the first call, not the hospital. About a five-minute drive from Main Street.
2233 State Route 86, Saranac Lake — the closest 24-hour emergency room, about 20 minutes from Main Street. This is where the Lake Placid urgent care refers anything serious, since the village's own ER closed in 2023. Save the address before you need it.
5673 Cascade Road, about ten minutes from Main Street — the local vet, but not a 24-hour operation; closed weekends and out by 3 on Fridays. They refer after-hours emergencies to VCA High Peaks or a specialty clinic further out. Save both numbers if you're traveling with a dog.
