Gull Lake

The largest of Minnesota's seven Gull Lakes.

Gull Lake is a 9,947-acre lake in central Minnesota's Brainerd Lakes area — the largest of the state's seven Gull Lakes, connected to eight smaller lakes by navigable channels and ringed by nineteen resorts, led by Cragun's.

About Gull Lake

Gull Lake anchors the Brainerd Lakes resort economy in central Minnesota, 9,947 acres with an average depth of 30 feet and a maximum of 80 feet — the largest of Minnesota's seven lakes named Gull. A logging-era dam raised the lake about five feet when it began service in 1912, and the resort era that followed built nineteen resorts around its shore, including Cragun's, which grew from a handful of 1940s cabins into central Minnesota's largest year-round resort. Bar Harbor Supper Club and Zorbaz on Gull Lake cover the lake's two poles of dining — classic supper club and late-night pizza — while Gull Lake Marina, Your Boat Club, and Lake Fun Rentals split the rental market between Brainerd and Nisswa. Nisswa, the small town on the lake's north shore, covers the grocery run; Brainerd, the Crow Wing County seat, covers the hospital.
