North Anna Power Station

A working Dominion Energy nuclear plant whose need for cooling water is the reason Lake Anna exists — built in the 1960s and '70s, with two reactor units online since 1978 and 1980, each producing about 945 megawatts. The lake's warm-water 'hot side,' fed by the plant's discharge canal, stays swimmable well into the off-season.
