Is Oneida Lake good for ice fishing?
Yes — it's one of the better ice-fishing lakes in the eastern United States for walleye and yellow perch. Walleye bite best on drop-offs and shoals early and late in the ice season; perch fishing picks up on deepwater flats in 30 to 40 feet as spring nears. Several guides run heated-shanty trips out of Brewerton and Constantia through the winter. Check ice thickness before walking out — the lake's currents keep it uneven.
