What is the history of Watts Bar Dam?
Built by the TVA between 1939 and January 1942, completed three weeks after Pearl Harbor to help power the war effort, including the Manhattan Project at nearby Oak Ridge. Construction relocated 832 families and 17 cemeteries across 54,600 acres.

Where can I rent a boat at Watts Bar Lake?
Eight marinas ring the lake. Blue Springs Marina in Ten Mile, with over 260 wet slips, is one of the largest and rents pontoons. Tennessee National Resort & Marina, inside a gated community off I-75, is the upscale-resort option.
Is there a public boat launch at Watts Bar Lake?
Yes — the largest are Rockwood's Tom Fuller Park and Kingston's Ladd Park, plus the Watts Bar Dam Reservation boat ramp and several smaller county launches. The dam reservation also has a designated swim beach.
