The Y-shaped one. Sparkling wine country.
The only forked Finger Lake — Hammondsport's aviation history on one arm, Penn Yan's formal north end on the other, Pleasant Valley's champagne cellars in between.
Keuka is the odd one out among the Finger Lakes — a Y-shape instead of a straight north-south trench, with Bluff Point splitting the lake into two arms. Hammondsport sits at the south end: Glenn Curtiss's hometown, the birthplace of American aviation, and home to Pleasant Valley Wine Company, the oldest bonded winery in the country. Penn Yan anchors the more formal north end. The wine trail runs the west arm; Keuka College and quieter residential shoreline take the east.
